ธาดา เฮงทัพย์กูล เป็นที่รู้จักดีในฐานะเป็นศิลปินที่ใช้ ‘ภาพถ่ายนู้ด’ เป็นสื่อสำหรับการแสดงออกเรื่องเพศในรูปแบบของเผชิญหน้าและการแสดงอำนาจ นิทรรศการ The Things That Take Us Apart นี้จึงเป็นส่วนผสมระหว่างการทำงานแบบทดลองบนพื้นฐานงานวิจัย ขณะที่ศิลปินพำนักอยู่ในจังหวัดเชียงใหม่เป็นเวลากว่าหนึ่งเดือน ธาดาทดลองเพื่อค้นหาขอบเขตและขยับขยายความเป็นไปได้ในการสร้างสรรค์โดยไม่คาดหวังถึงผลลัพธ์แบบตายตัว เพื่อตามหาความหมายของการมีอยู่ของความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างตัวบุคคลและพื้นที่ โดยเฉพาะสถานที่ที่เคยเป็นสถานบันเทิงในจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ จากการเข้าไปสำรวจพื้นที่ผ่านความทรงจำหรือคำบอกเล่าของคนในท้องถิ่น รวมถึงทดสอบความเป็นไปได้ในการมีปฎิสัมพันธ์ระหว่างกันของคนแปลกหน้าในพื้นที่เหล่านั้น ในนิทรรศการนี้จัดแสดงภาพถ่ายคัดสรรและหนังสือศิลปิน (artist's books) สำหรับผู้สนใจครอบครองประสบการณ์อันกระอักกระอ่วนและเต็มไปด้วยคำถามเหล่านี้

Tada Hengsapkul : The Things That Take Us Apart

The first solo exhibition in Chiang Mai of Tada Hengsapkul, an emerging artist best known for using nude photography to expose sexual expression as a performance of power and confrontation . 
Using experimental and research-based processes, The Things That Take Us Apart Exhibition redefines the boundaries of possibilities to create a work without the expectation of an absolute result. During his residency in Chiang Mai, Hengsapkul tried to find the meaning of the relationships between human and places and the history of spaces, focusing particularly on entertainment venues. These spaces can be understood through his interviews with the locals as well as the process of having strangers interacting in such places, both which put the possibilities of human interaction to test. This exhibition displays photographs as well as the artist’s books for the curious minds that are interested to have the remnants of such tumultuous experience in possession.

Gallery Seescape and Waiting You Curator Lab 
invites you to the opening ceremony of ‘The Things That Takes Us Apart’. The first solo exhibition in Chiang Mai by Tada Hengsapkul at Gallery Seescape, Nimmanhemin soi 17, exhibiting from 6 January - 5 February 2017.

Gallery Seescape is located in the centre of Nimmanhemin, in the corner of the intersection in the middle of soi 17. It opens everyday except Monday between 11am-8pm. Free entry.
