นิทรรศการ "Drift + Trace" เป็นชุดสัญลักษณ์กระบวนการทางความคิดที่เชื่องโยงสู่แผนที่ขนาดใหญ่ ซึ่งแผนที่ดังกล่าวไม่ได้เป็นแผนที่จาก google แต่ทว่างานสุนทรียศาสตร์ชุดนี้จะนำไปสู่การประกอบรวมกันเป็นผลงานการจัดวาง
นิทรรศการ "Drift + Trace" จึงเต็มไปด้วยวัตถุทัี่ทำจากทองแดง ไม้ อลูมิเนียม ไวนิล และเชื่อก ซึ่งวัตถุเหล่านี้เองที่เป็นตัวแทนสัญลักษณ์บอกเล่าถึงร่องรอยทั้งทางร่างกาย และอารมร์ ของ Paul Hay ในช่วงเวลาที่เขาอยู่ในประเทศไทย
ศิลปินชาวออสเตรเลียน, Paul Hay พำนักอาศัยชั่วคราวในจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ เขาดำรงตำแหน่งเป็น อาจารย์ ในสาขาวิชา ประติมากรรม ของ School of Art, Australian National University และในปัจจุบัน ยังดำรงตำแหน่งอาจารย์พิเศษประจำ สาขาวิชาประติมากรรม ที่คณะวิจิตรศิลป์ มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่
นิทรรศการจะจัดแสดงตั้งแต่วันที่ 4 - 19 ตุลาคม 2559 ทุกวัน อังคาร ถึง อาทิตย์ (ปิดวันจันทร์) เวลา 09.00 - 17.00 น.
‘Drift + Trace’ is an exhibition by Paul Hay at Chiang Mai University Art Center. It will open at 6pm on 4 October and run from October 4 – 16.
This exhibition is a series of physical and psychological markers linked to form a large map. This map is not a Google map but a series of poetic links that have been assembled as an installation.
‘Drift + Trace’ is a field of objects made from bronze, wood, aluminum, vinyl and rope. These objects represent some of the physical and emotional traces of Paul Hay’s life in Thailand.
Australian artist, Paul Hay is a temporary resident of Chiang Mai. He is Lecturer in Sculpture at the School of Art, Australian National University and is currently Special Lecturer in Sculpture at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Chiang Mai University.
