Thai artist Sutthirat Supaparinya’s first solo show in New Zealand reimagines the content of a banned book as an art exhibition.  Responding to limitations on the freedom of expression in Thailand following a military takeover in 2014, Supaparinya is seeking to encourage debate through art. This exhibition of previous and new works reinterprets an American book title that banned in Australia ‘Steal This Book’ by Abbie Hoffman. Without reading the book, Supaparinya used the title as a provocation for creating content in her own narrative. The artist works across a range of media including video, installation, photography and sculpture.
