“หรรษา” มาจากฉายาทางธรรม สมัยที่เคยบวชเป็นพระของตะวันวาด วนวิทย์ บุตรชายของ พิเชษฐ์ - ลดาวดี วนวิทย์ ผู้ก่อตั้งและที่ปรึกษาของหรรษา คอมมิวนิตี้ โดยตะวันวาดได้ฉายาว่า “หรรษาจิตโต” หรือ ผู้จิตหรรษา
ผู้ก่อตั้งฯ มีความมุ่งหวังให้พื้นที่แห่งนี้ เป็นสถานที่เรียนรู้บ่มเพาะจิตใจผ่านกิจกรรมอันหลากหลายอย่างเป็นสุข “เราสนใจเรื่องสภาวะภายใน การปฏิบัติเพื่อให้จิตได้รับการขัดเกลา แต่ในการเดินทางไปสู่จุดนั้น ผู้ฝึกปฏิบัติควรมีความสุขสดชื่นไปด้วย ไม่ได้เคร่งตึงจนเกินไป เป็น นัยของความหรรษา” หรืออาจเรียกได้ว่า นี่คือสถานฝึกตนด้วยความเบิกบานนั่นเอง
หรรษา Community ปรารถนาจะดำเนินกิจกรรรมเพื่อบ่มเพาะการเรียนรู้ และความงอกงามในใจ โดยึดถือหลักการ 3 ประการ คือ
1.สิ่งแวดล้อม การทำกิจกรรมทุกชนิดต้องตั้งอยู่บนฐานของการเคารพสิ่งแวดล้อม เช่น จัดกิจกรรม โดยลดขยะให้เป็นศูนย์ หรือ Zero waste หรือการเปิดพื้นที่ให้หน่วยงานที่งานสาธารณประโยชน์ด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมได้ร่วมใช้พื้นที่ เป็นต้น
2.ศิลปะ ศิลปะสร้างความงดงาม เติมเต็มความสมดุลในใจ ก่อเกิดสมาธิและความสงบใจไปพร้อมกันศิลปะจึงเป็นฐานของกิจกรรมหลายประการเพื่อนำพาไปสู่เป้าหมายของการบ่มเพาะ จิตอันสงบงามได้
3.จิตวิญญาณ การเติบโต เข้าใจ และยกระดับสภาวะภายในอย่างตื่นรู้ เบิกบาน เป็นหัวใจของการใช้ชีวิตอย่างร่มเย็นเป็นสุข กิจกรรมที่เต็มเต็มจิตวิญญาณอาจเป็นไปได้หลากหลายแต่นำ ไปสู่ความุ่งหมายเดียวกัน คือการมีชีวิตที่ดีขึ้น อันเป็นหัวใจสำคัญสูงสุดของการใช้ประโยชน์พื้นที่แห่งนี้
สถานที่ตั้งของหรรษา communityนั้น เคยเป็นบ้านของหม่อมศรีนวล ณ เชียงใหม่ ภริยาเจ้าราชบุตรแห่งนครเชียงใหม่ (วงศ์ตะวัน ณ เชียงใหม่) ต่อมาผู้ก่อตั้งฯได้ดัดแปลงให้เป็นสถานเตรียมความพร้อมสำหรับ เด็กหรือpre-schoolสำหรับให้การศึกษาลูกชาย-ตะวันวาด วนวิทย์ ในนามของ kiddy bear pre-school สมัยที่เขาอายุเพียง2ขวบโดยให้ความเคารพในจิตวิญญาณของพื้นที่และเชื่อหมดใจว่าการทำโรงเรียนอนุบาล คือ“การบ่มเพาะเด็กๆไปสู่ความงอกงามและการเติบโต”
เมื่อถึงเวลาที่ต้องเปลี่ยนผ่านจาก คิดดี้แบร์ พรีสกูล ( ดำเนินกิจการมายาวนานถึง 25 ปี )ให้กลายเป็นพื้นที่การเรียนรู้ในรูปแบบใหม่ จิตใจของผู้ก่อตั้งฯ ยังยืนหยัดต่อการใช้พื้นเพื่อเป้าหมายของความร่มเย็น ทางใจ หรรษาCommunity จึงกำเนิดขึ้นเป็นพื้นที่การเรียนรู้เพื่อความงอกงามภายใน

“Hansa” is the Buddhist epithet during the monkshood of Tawanwat Wonawit, the son of Phichet - Ladawadi Wonawit, the founders and advisors of Hansa Community. The epithet of Tawanwat was ‘Hansa Jitto’ or ‘the person with a Happy Mind’.
The founders established this place for others to happily learn mental exercise and control through various activities. “We are interested in internal status. The exercise is for shaping the mind. However, to attain such a result, each practitioner should feel happy and should not be too strict or tensed, which is the implication of Hansa (happiness).” It can be said that this place is the place for visitors to practice themselves with happiness.
Hansa Community desires to run activities to implant and incubate learning and prosperity in visitors’ minds by adhering to 3 principles, as follows.
1. Environs: All activities must be carried out on the basis of respect to environment such as an activity that creates zero waste or the permission for an organization that does environmen- tal public works to use the space.
2. Arts: Arts create beauty, build mental balance, and lead to concentration and peace of mind simultaneously. Arts are bases of various activities that lead to the practice of mind in order to attain peace of mind.
3. Spirituality: Spirituality means growth, understanding and improvement of internal status in the conscious and happy manner, which is the core of peaceful life. There are various activities to fulfill spiritual needs but all of them share the same goal or to improve life which is the most important objective of this place.
As for the location of Hansa Community, it had been the residence of Mom Sinuan Na Chiang Mai, the wife of the Heir Apparent of Chiang Mai Kingdom (Wongtawan Na Chiang Mai). Later, the founders turned it into the place to prepare children or pre-school students in order to be the educational facility for their son or Tawanwat Worawit, under the name ‘Kiddy Bear Pre- school Kindergarten, when he was 2 years old, with the emphasis on the respect to the spirit of the space and the hearty belief that to run a kindergarten for pre-school students is “to incubate students to growth and prosperity.”
When Kiddy Bear Pre-school Kindergarten (which had been operated for 25 years) had to be turned into the learning space in the new form, the founders still strictly adhere to the aim of using the space for attaining peace of mind. Hansa Community is thus a place for learning for at- taining internal prosperity.
